About Us

In 2005, Hooper Avenue Primary Center opened its doors to meet the continuous growth of the Historical South Los Angeles community. Our Primary Center serves Pre-School, ETK (Expanded Transitional Kindergarten), TK (Transitional Kindergarten) and Kindergarten students. Our small learning environment of 10 classrooms preserves the magic of early childhood learning by building a strong bridge between home and school. We engage our young students with creativity and critical thinking through our STEAM focus.

Our ELPAC-aligned curriculum for English-learners has been shown to drastically improve English Language Acquisition through forming level-appropriate groups, teaching students the language foundations they need, and routinely checking for understanding and growth.
